Harnessing the Sun to Help Communities Across Brazil.

Mission

We build solar power systems for underserved communities across Brazil — orphanages, women’s shelters, and indigenous communities —allowing them to concentrate more of their resources on the needs of their people.

Approach

Astronomical electricity costs remain among the highest operating expense for community organizations in Brazil. Using solar power, we’re able to provide free, long-term, sustainable energy solutions for our communities.

Impact

For each dollar spent building solar power system, we generate eight dollars worth of electricity. This impact multiple means that our efforts have an outsized result for the communities we serve.

Projects

Empower Solar Energy Non-Profit Lar do Menor

Lar do Menor

Founded in 1987, Lar do Menor de Carapicuiba (“The Children’s Home”) provides food, housing, education, and recreation activities for over 300 children in the Carapicuiba neighborhood of Sao Paulo, including 27 children living at the home.

Our 3.3 kilowatt solar power system is saving the organization over $120,000 in energy costs.
